(Feb. 1, 2024) Almost 30 miles of the Core System Pipeline have been installed to date. Segments #0 through #3A have already been installed and approximately 1 mile of Segments #3B&4 remains.
CCCC crews are preparing for the 2024 construction season and plan to hit the ground running this spring. One crew will install the remainder of Segments #3B&4, while a second crew will begin installation of Segment #5.
The steel pipe for Segment #6 will be delivered and staged along the pipeline alignment this year. Once the design of Segments #7&8 is complete, the process of procuring the steel pipe will begin.
Once complete, the Core System Pipeline will transfer treated drinking water from the water treatment plant by Tiber Reservoir to the Rocky Boy’s Reservation. Once the treated water reaches the Rocky Boy’s Reservation, the On-Reservation Transmission System will distribute the water throughout the reservation. This system includes a series of pipelines, water storage tanks, and pump stations. The design of this system will be broken down into phases, and design of the first phase is expected to commence this year.
